Chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Relatives bickering over seats in front
of the telly. Dry turkey. Then the inevitable sitting around while the olds
force everyone to watch the Queen's Speech. Meh!
Not for us though. We'll be ensconsed in another room with a top-notch game
to play, a box of chocolates to munch, and the door firmly shut to stop Uncle
Alan from asking us to pull his finger after the sprouts. We recommend you join us!
The Gameplay online team have picked out what they want to be playing this
holiday season, but what we really want to know is what YOU want to be playing
on Christmas Day - and if you tell us, you could win even more gaming goodness!
Simply fill in the handy wee web form below, and let us know what game you
want to be playing on Christmas, and make sure to give us your reasons.
Lets face it, everyone's gonna say Modern Warfare 2, so you might as well
tell us why! We'll be posting up a list of the top ten choices
and the best reason will get posted alongside it, so it's your chance to have
your say!
And that's not all - one lucky winner will be picked at random, and they'll
receive FIVE games of their choice! How about that for a Christmas present?

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Nominated by Sam
Yay, there's a new Zelda! Happy Christmas to me! Phantom Hourglass was
awesome (I even quite liked Linebeck by the end), so I've high hopes for
Spirit Tracks. Sure it's probably going to be more of the same (go somewhere,
get quest, explore dungeon, beat boss, get new weapon, repeat), but that's
kinda the point. Zelda's about story and puzzles and exploration and immersing
yourself in a different world for the 3 weeks it'll take to get to the end,
and I can't wait! Choo choo!

Left 4 Dead 2
Nominated by Brodie
Nothing says festive fun like massacring hundreds of flesh-crazed
gibbering infected maniacs, so Left 4 Dead 2 gets my vote. The first
game was ridiculously good fun on your own, and complete carnage with
a team online, and this looks like more of the same but better!
Perfect for venting your family frustrations too - just imagine the
Witch is that miserable woman who everyone calls "Auntie Doreen" even
though she isn't actually related to you, and you'll soon be ready to
rejoin the relatives for a few cheeky drinks. Possibly. ;p

COD: Modern Warfare 2
Nominated by Braided Nomrod
Well, one of us had to pick it really! The original is definitely one of my
favourite games from the last couple of years. The campaign was fantastic,
with some truly memorable moments (especially the nuke, that was pretty
harrowing stuff), and the online still is a gift that keeps on giving.
Everything I've seen so far of Modern Warfare 2 makes me certain it's game
of the year, and I can't wait to get stuck in online!

Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships
Nominated by Wagoo
There's something stunningly romantic about the visuals of a galleon
laden with scurvy dogs sailing the Caribbean seas. I'm hoping the
ship-to-ship combat, swashbuckling, various character classes, trading,
infinite mission generation after completion of the main story quests
and so on all combine to make a treasure of a game this Saturnalia.
